733fcca2cd Invent structure tags for the storage.h abstractions.
Most of these were 'void *' because they weren't even reliably a
structure type underneath - the per-OS storage systems would directly
cast read/write/enum settings handles to and from random things like
FILE *, Unix DIR *, or Windows HKEY. So I've wrapped them in tiny
structs for the sake of having a sensible structure tag visible
elsewhere in the code.

869a0f5f71 Fix Windows warning about GetVersionEx deprecation.
Rather than squelching the warning, I'm actually paying attention to
the deprecation, in that I'm allowing for the possibility that the
function might stop existing or stop returning success.

49fb598b0e Add automatic type-checking to GET_WINDOWS_FUNCTION.
This gives me an extra safety-check against having mistyped one of the
function prototypes that we load at run time from DLLs: we verify that
the typedef we defined based on the prototype in our source code
matches the type of the real function as declared in the Windows
headers.

This was an idea I had while adding a pile of further functions using
this mechanism. It didn't catch any errors (either in the new
functions or in the existing collection), but that's no reason not to
keep it anyway now that I've thought of it!

In VS2015, this automated type-check works for most functions, but a
couple manage to break it. SetCurrentProcessExplicitAppUserModelID in
winjump.c can't be type-checked, because including <shobjidl.h> where
that function is declared would also bring in a load of other stuff
that conflicts with the painful manual COM declarations in winjump.c.
(That stuff could probably be removed now we're on an up-to-date
Visual Studio, on the other hand, but that's a separate chore.) And
gai_strerror, used in winnet.c, does _have_ an implementation in a
DLL, but the header files like to provide an inline version with a
different calling convention, which defeats this error-checking trick.
And in the older VS2003 that we still precautionarily build with,
several more type-checks have to be #ifdeffed out because the
functions they check against just aren't there at all.

bf00bcd2a4 SetCurrentProcessExplicitAppUserModelID to fix jumplist/removable media bug
The algorithm Windows uses to generate AppUserModelIDs "hangs on" to
removable media (CDs/DVDs) if PuTTY is launched with a CD/DVD in a drive.
Set the AppUserModelID explicitly to avoid using this algorithm.

ef7a821bb1 64-bit cleanness: fix a couple of format strings in winjump.c.
strcspn() returns a size_t, which is not safe to pass as the parameter
in a printf argument list corresponding to a "*" field width specifier
in the format string, because the latter should be int, which may not
be the same size as size_t.

8bf5c1b31f Work around a failure in Windows 10 jump lists.
We've had several reports that launching saved sessions from the
Windows 10 jump list fails; Changyu Li reports that this is because we
create those IShellLink objects with a command line string starting
with @, and in Windows 10 that causes the SetArguments method to
silently do the wrong thing.

b99bec3b02 Another big batch of memory leak fixes, again mostly on error paths.
The most interesting one is printer_add_enum, which I've modified to
take a char ** rather than a char * so that it can both realloc its
input buffer _and_ return NULL to indicate error.

301d30c68e Optionally define PropVariantInit() locally to restore ability to build with
MinGW after r9046, and munge the COMPTR() macro to remove a couple of warnings
with my MinGW GCC (3.4.5).

1a03fa9292 Support for Windows 7 jump lists (right-click on a program's taskbar
icon, even if the program isn't running at the time, to be presented
with an application-defined collection of helpful links). The current
jump list is updated every time a saved session is loaded, and shows
the last few launchable saved sessions (i.e. not those like Default
Settings) that were loaded. Also, if Pageant or PuTTYgen or both is in
the same directory as the PuTTY binary, the jump list will present
links to launch those too.

Based on a patch sent last year by Daniel B. Roy, though it's barely
recognisable any more...
